Australia’s wonder mare Winx shoots for an unprecedented four Cox Plates when she heads back to Moonee Valley in October, and you can be there with Boys Trip! We’ve got packages to suit every racing and punting desire, whether you want to jet in for the race only or extend the weekend by visiting the Racing Museum at the MCG, Legends for retired champions or just get an appetite with the Manikato Stakes the night before we’ve got you covered.
Our 2 night packages start from just $1,700 per person. We’ll have you departing New Zealand on the morning of Friday 26th October, flying direct to Melbourne, staying 2 nights and flying home on Sunday 28th October.
This package pricing is just a guide, package pricing will differ depending on how many travelers you have, your city of departure, any optional extras you require and when you request your quote.

- Return Air New Zealand ‘The Works’ airfares departing AKL/WLG/CHC (regional connections available) on Friday 26th October and returning on Sunday 28th October

What You Need To Know
Flights
While our package pricing is for flights departing from Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch, let us know if you would prefer to fly out of a different airport and we can cater the quote to suit you. The NZ$25 Departure Tax fee is included in the cost of your airfares. Boys Trip has established an excellent partnership with Air New Zealand and they are our Preferred carrier for all our packages. Your package includes Air New Zealand’s ‘The Works’ fares, which include 23kg of checked baggage, 7kg of carry-on luggage, seat requests and in flight meals and drinks. If you would prefer one of their other fare types, ‘Seat Only’ (no check in baggage, no meals), ‘Seat and Bag’ (no meals), Premium Economy or Business Class, just let us know.
Accommodation
Boys Trip prefer to use Mantra Hotels and our accommodation in Melbourne is at the Mantra on Little Bourke Hotel in downtown Melbourne. This is a 4-Star property, which features a 24 hour reception, gym, sauna, restaurant, bar and room service.
Take your choice from;
- Executive Studio Room (King bed or two single beds)
- 1-Bedroom Apartment (King bed or two single beds)
- 2-Bedroom Apartment (2 King beds or King bed & two single beds or four single beds)
Sofa beds can be added to any room for an additional $50 per night
Tickets
Our packages include General Admission tickets to the 2018 Cox Plate, plus there is also the option to upgrade to allocated grandstand seating.
Transfers
Included in the package are transfers from Melbourne Airport to the Mantra on Little Bourke Hotel on the 26th and from the hotel to Melbourne Airport on the 28th. Transfers to and from Moonee Valley Racecourse are not included in the package at this stage, however, depending on final numbers we may put on transfer arrangements.
Insurance
We include Cover More Essentials Travel Insurance with our packages. If you already have made arrangements for travel insurance, let us know. If you wish to know more about our Cover More Travel Insurance, let us know and we can e-mail you a brochure.
We do have some flexibility with travel dates and package inclusions, so if something doesn’t quite suit you, let us know and we can try to cater the package to suit your personal requirements.
For all bookings we require a 50% deposit to secure your package and the remaining 50% six weeks prior to departure. For bookings within six weeks of departure, full payment would be required to secure this package. For all our terms and conditions, check out http://boys-trip.co.nz/terms
